Paul Salomon

Paul Salomon joined Stockdale Street in 2011 and is responsible for leading the team. Prior to that, he was the co-founder of Altirah Capital, a South African private equity and venture capital house. Paul was also the chief financial officer of Everest Capital, an Australian hedge fund business. Prior to his involvement in the hedge fund industry, he worked at ABN AMRO in Australia and Investec Bank in South Africa in their corporate finance divisions.

Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia, is a CFA charterholder, and holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours) from the University of Cape Town.

Sajeet Giga

Sajeet has a BSc. Engineering (Electrical and Computer) degree from the University of Cape Town. He spent nearly 7 years at Burlington Strategy Advisors where he worked on a number of strategy and transactional engagements for a number of mid-cap corporates and private equity players. Sajeet joined Stockdale Street in 2012. Sajeet has experience in private equity investing both in South Africa and internationally.

Sajeet has extensive experience both in private equity investing and on the consulting side. This experience cuts across multiple sectors and geographies.

Rafael Eliasov

Rafael has a (Bcom), Finance and Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and a HDip Tax from the University of Johannesburg. He worked at Investec Equity Partners for nearly 6 years and recently was a director of Cliff Dekker Hofmeyer. Rafael joined Stockdale Street in 2018.

Rafael has extensive deal experience in the private equity space both as a legal adviser and as an investment principal.

Michael Alexander

Michael, a CA (SA) and CFA® charterholder, has a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance and Accounting) and Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) from the University of Cape Town.

He previously worked at J.P. Morgan in Investment Banking where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions, funding across the debt and equity spectrum and corporate restructurings. Prior to his role at J.P. Morgan, he worked at One Capital in corporate finance, having started his career at Deloitte.

Tamryn Grobbelaar

Tamryn has a Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Accounting Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch. She is a CA (SA) and completed her traineeship in the Financial Services Team at Deloitte Johannesburg.

Tamryn has extensive Financial Management experience. She joined the FirstRand Bank group after articles, spending time at FirstRand Life Insurance and Ashburton Investments.

Tamryn joined Stockdale Street in 2018.

Mariska Bekker

Mariska has a Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Law from the University of Stellenbosch as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences from Unisa. She is a CA(SA) and completed her traineeship at Mazars Cape Town.

Mariska acquired a wide range of financial experience in various industries including property, retail, manufacturing, agriculture, non-profits and financial services, from both listed and non-listed companies. Mariska’s most recent role included managing the finance department and overseeing company secretarial compliance at the Dorpstraat Group.

Mariska joined Stockdale Street in 2021.

Finance and Operations

Sonita Nel

Sonita is a CA(SA) with a Master of Commerce (MCom) degree in Taxation from the North-West University. She completed her SAICA traineeship at EY Bloemfontein and obtained audit experience in several different financial sectors.

She joined WTax (part of the VAT IT group) after articles as part of a research team, gaining exposure to different global investment markets and structures, related regulatory environments and international tax consequences. Her rotation at WTax also included time spent as a Business Analyst which involved strategic and operational analysis.

Sonita joined Stockdale Street in 2022.
